our practice:
Well Psychotherapy emerged from my vision of providing New Orleans with competent and caring trauma-informed wellness services.
Our staff are equipped with a best-practices foundation in trauma-informed care, and they are expected to engage regularly with ongoing education in their respective specialties through this non-pathologizing, holistic framework.
Our leadership team engages each one in individualized supervision to support their development and capacity to dive deep with clients. We hold them to a high standard so that you can, too.
My therapeutic work is aimed at empowering you to overcome life experiences that render you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or hopeless. I work alongside you to rewrite the stories you live by, crafting new narratives that serve your growth and healing.
I work with a reverence for your neurobiological, psychological, social, and spiritual processes, while also providing opportunities to explore, process, and more adaptively integrate adverse experiences. I am proudly queer affirming and sex worker allied.
My approach is embedded in Attachment Theory, but I integrate a number of modalities in treatment, all through a trauma-sensitive lens. While this repertoire is ever expanding, it includes: EMDR, Clinical hypnotherapy, DBT, CBT, Trauma-focused CBT, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Narrative Therapy, Ego State Therapy, Relational Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Phase-oriented Trauma Treatment.

Veronica has worked as a psychotherapist for over ten years and in the field of mental health for fifteen. In 2016, Veronica opened her private practice to address the role that traumatic stress was playing in her New Orleans community. In 2021, amid the universal stress of a global pandemic, Veronica expanded that practice to a group model, in order to address the demand for trauma-focused services from a diversity of therapeutic modalities and services.
She has reverence for survivorship and understands that so often, the underpinnings of psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual difficulties arise from unresolved trauma. Her professional and personal experiences have facilitated her ability to enable survivors of traumatic experiences to find relief from the manifold symptoms that result. Most recently, she has committed to using these experiences to educating and equipping newer clinicians with the tools to provide this high standard of care.
Trauma related disorders often coexist with other mental and physical health issues, and because of Veronica's passion, expertise, and commitment to breaking down barriers to trusted expert care, Well Psychotherapy carefully blends trauma-informed care with traditional with holisitic, innovative therapeutic approaches tailored to our client’s unique needs. She mentors all therapists on staff in this model, and is available for psychotherapy appointments for specialized care, although she currently has a waitlist. She is also available for consultation and supervision.
