my practice:
I am currently a Masters student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Saybrook University, and concurrently working towards my Sound Healing and Yoga Therapy (IAYT) Certification. I have lived in New Orleans for 14 years, and as a counselor in training I am committed to implementing my learned knowledge, continuing education, and intuitive relational skills to serve my clients and community. My first career was in dance performance and education, and I discovered my calling to the helping profession during a Yoga for Warriors (PTSD) training. I come from a military family and know the process of integrating change and uncertainty all too well.

I embrace a holistic approach to counseling that values the entire human experience. My role is to provide safety, acceptance, and connection. Operating from Person- Centered and Relational-Cultural theoretical orientations, I believe that the success of counseling is rooted in the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Working together, we will examine the impact that our intra- and interpersonal relationships have on our well being, and how to foster healthy and meaningful connections.

Embracing a bottom-up approach to healing, I apply a researched-based and trauma-informed poly-vagal lens into my practice. I believe that our bodies hold the memories of our defenses, the wisdom of our experiences, and the innate capacity to heal.

During our journey together you, the client, and I, the counselor will collaborate in identifying areas of focus, engage in active reflection, co-create goals, and develop a plan to support meaningful growth. I am committed to culturally responsive counseling, equitable practices, and honoring the unique experiences of the individual and their communities.
